How machine cost per hour is built
Depreciation is what the printer loses in value (purchase price minus resale value) divided by the hours you expect it to run. Maintenance per hour is yearly spending on nozzles, belts and parts divided by print hours per year. Electricity per hour uses average power and your price per kWh.
Choosing a lifetime
Nobody knows exactly how many hours a hobby printer will last, so pick a conservative number and update it as the machine ages. This figure feeds the machine wear line in the print price calculator.
